Who Are We?
Griffinbrook, Ltd. was developed by Cher Griffin of Auburn, NH. Cher has been in the horse business since 1968. After owning several successful horse boarding and training facilities she opened The Victory Pass Saddle Shop in Derry, NH in 1986. The shop was known for having "something for everybody", fitting saddles correctly and lots of services.
After selling the business in 1991 Cher started her own trucking company and construction business. Never far from the world of horses, saddles and tack, her mobile shop could be seen at several events selling everything from tee shirts and gifts to carts and harnesses and accessories for miniature horses.
In 2003, the need for a horse tack shop in her area became a reality. Cher's 29 years as a horse show judge, trainer, and instructor was instrumental in deciding the scope of the new store. Judging shows in all the New England states and New York keeps her abreast of the latest in trends and styles. An uncompromising demand for trying products on her own animals before giving them shelf space helps people choose what works and what doesn't including saddles, apparel, and and all the other accessories for the rider. Knowing the needs of the horse community and listening carefully to the customer is a hallmark of her work.
In 2007, UNH Cooperative Extension awarded Cher the 30-year Ruby Award. She has been the coach for the Hillsborough and Rockingham County horse judging teams since 1985 and has had 10 National teams to her credit. Cher also coached the 1987 NH Arabian Youth team to a third high overall finish at the US Arabian Nationals in Kentucky. In 2005 all of Cher's team members won the top four spots at the state contest and will be attending the Nationals in November.
